Craftiness

So among the many things going on this past month I volunteered to lead the "decorating" team for a womens day at our church.  We had about 20 tables to decorate and just a $50 budget... So thanks to Pinterest I spent a week or two making Pinwheels and we stayed in our budget with even some $ to spare :)  Though I will say that I don't recommend making these for a large event / maybe when you only have two or three tables to decorate because thought they are super cute they are also very time consuming... and not really a good idea the week after you move and when you have two little kiddos!!  :)  Many nights were spent the week prior to the event late into the morning hrs hot gluing my fingers to each other. I also have to say I would not have gotten them done without the help of the ladies on the team/ they also worked hard and we made almost 200 pinwheels I think/ I lost count.  So here are some pics:

We got a large book of scrapbook paper/ You cut the paper about the size of a ruler... longer for wider pinwheels/ then you accordion fold/ when finished folding you glue the ends together/ then you place a small cut out circle and hot glue it to hold it in place/ then we added a stick
For the Large Pinwheels I used four pieces of Paper glued together

I also put some of the decorative paper in frames and wrote some Bible Verses on the glass

We used Deer Corn to fill up Mason Jars we collected from friends that ended up helping us stay in Budget.

The FINISHED Project!!  I think it turned out great!!  We used some real flowers to complement and Burlap over a table cloth that we cut the edges off for a more decorative feel and enough Pinwheels for every lady that came to take home one with her.
