So long little friend~

This week we morn the loss of our faithful friend Copper~

Copper was our first little one;  A few months after we were married Richard and I looked and looked for just the right dog and were pretty set on getting a dog from the pound but just never met the right dog so one day walking into the doggy store to just take a look we fell in love with the little guy.  Copper reminded me so much of that little dog in the Disney movie Fox and the Hound with his big floppy ears and little howl.  A couple of years later we would go back to the doggy store for some dog food and come home with Todd/// Coppers Best Friend!  We have had so many adventures together ~  Copper was always in the middle of whatever we were doing~ I remember bringing CJ home and when I was not holding her he would go looking for her and I would catch him standing up looking into the crib.  He also loved to just lay on the floor and let Micaiah climb all over him!

Last Friday night after I put the kids to bed Copper just came and laid down in the middle of our living room and then never got up/// We tried to make him but he was in so much pain.  The next day we took him to the doggy ER because he was still in middle of the living room floor and we could not get him to eat or go to the bathroom.  We thought leaving him at the vet that we would just leave him there and they would nurse him back to health (something was wrong with his back and it apparently made him paralyzed in his back leg's and not able to use them) this happen to him last year; though this time they called us Sunday morning and told us we would have to make a decision to go with a crazy expensive surgery with the chance that he could in another year need another surgery, or put him to sleep because he was in so much pain.  We reluctantly decided the best thing for Copper was to help him not be in pain anymore...   We are heartbroken and now missing a piece of the family~   Here are some pics we took when we went to say good-by to Copper before the water works started~
